The St. Francis Xavier Summer Picnic is the one of the largest fundraisers for the parish and occurs annually the second weekend in June. The picnic kicks off with Carnival Ride Night on Thursday and ends with the Capital Prize Drawing at the close of the picnic on Saturday evening. The net proceeds benefit the ministries of our church by supporting the annual budget by which we live, work and pray. The grand tradition of the picnic is planned, prepared and staffed entirely by volunteers: from the planning team whose work begins in October, to the grounds crew who turn a parking lot into a community festival, to those who order, prepare and provide food and drinks, those who run the booths and work in them, to those who set up entertainment and sound, and those who work behind the scenes counting money, organizing sponsors, distributing promotional signs, baking cakes, gathering/creating prize baskets, and selling chances, there is definitely a spot for EVERYONE. The parish is grateful for every Summer Picnic volunteer and welcomes all to join in the fun!
Parishioners willing to serve on the Planning Team, Grounds Crew, Dinners Committee, Meal Preparation, Food Servers/Runners, Dining Room Workers, Food Concessions Workers, Sell Dinner Tickets, Money Counters, Organize Sponsors, Distribute Promotional Signs, Work in Wheel, Gambling or Kid's Game Booths, Donate Booth Prizes, Donate Special Raffle Prizes, Donate Quilts, Prepare/Distribute Raffle Tickets, Help with Parking, Organize Music/Entertainment, Deliver Promotional Announcements before and during the Picnic.
